Here you can find information on art and cultural objects located today in museums and collections of the Republic of Austria or of the City of Vienna, which might have been, according to latest provenance research, seized under the National Socialist regime. Their publication in this database takes place in co-operation with the collections concerned and with Austrian provenance research, thus aiming to clarify the possibility of the restitution of these objects. Information regarding this possibility is to be found in each entry. The National Fund is legally entitled to make use of those art objects handed over to the Fund which cannot be returned to their original owners or to their legal heirs for the benefit of victims of the National Socialist regime.
